Description:
This 2  hour adventure will take you on a hike to the banks of the Royal River at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine. Forage for fiddleheads with Retired Maine Game Warden Lt. Adam Gormely. His 35 + years in the Maine woods is sure to offer a knowledgeable and memorable experience. Learn where to find fiddleheads, how to prepare them, and then enjoy them in our favorite recipe when you return home. Morning and afternoon excursions available. Bring comfortable hiking boots and be prepared to hike at least 2 miles through flat and off trail conditions.

Directions to the Outdoor Center: Follow GPS directions to the Market at 15 Farm View Drive, New Gloucester, Maine. Plenty of parking is available off from Yarmouth Drive or Pineland Drive.

Adam Gormely started his law enforcement career in 1990 in the Moosehead Lake area as a deputy game warden. While in Greenville Adam spent many hours patrolling the back country exploring what the great State of Maine had to offer and what he was charged to protect. In 2008 he transferred as a Lieutenant to take command of the southern most division of the state where he remained until March of 2021 when he retired.

Adam’s passions lie with teaching and instructing, and he has taught and instructed in many venues to include a variety of classes in State Gov, University of Maine, Augusta and different LE academy settings. Adam’s Passion for the outdoors, coupled with his ability to talk and train with people interested in learning, will ensure all people learn, live and most importantly laugh!

  • Visitors are required to wear face coverings when visiting Pineland Farms.
  • Please stay home if you are sick or do not feel well, or have been in contact with anyone who is unwell.
