Fiddlehead ID Hike
Description: Discover the flavors of Maine’s wild landscape! Join us for a 2‑hour guided adventure through the Pineland Farms trail system to the scenic banks of the Royal River. Along the way, we’ll explore a variety of seasonal edible plants, including but not limited to fiddleheads, while also learning how to identify, appreciate, and responsibly harvest nature’s offerings. Led by our knowledgeable staff, this experience blends exploration, hands-on foraging, and ecological stewardship for a memorable outdoor outing. Each participant will take home a small amount of fiddleheads to enjoy!
This experience involves hiking approx. 1-2 miles over varied terrain.
Recommended Gear: Small harvesting bag, comfortable all-terrain shoes, long pants, insect repellent, a water bottle, and layers to stay comfortable outside.
*This program is subject to our responsibility to sustainably harvest a wild resource. In the event nature doesn’t provide an abundance of fiddleheads on your chosen date, we reserve the right to reschedule or cancel. Refunds will be provided if the need to cancel arises.
